Greetings from sunny Miami! (side note: it’s actually sunny most of the time BUT we apparently arrived during rainy season, and it has been raining every day) If you didn’t know already, I have left my position as Morning Co-Host (Morning Diva) at 95.9 The Ranch and I have moved to Miami to pursue a new career! Well, my boyfriend has started a new career – I am still looking. 🙂
Who knew Miami would be so different from Texas!?
The move has been an adventure so far, and I am sure it will continue to be…before we even left our old place we had issues but now we are hanging out in an extended stay hotel (with Romeo) while we look for a place to live! Looking for an apartment/condo in Miami is a far cry from how we did it in Texas. Most places are individually owned condos for rent – at a premium! So far we have seen what is considered the low-end and not so low-end…I would say high-end but we didn’t venture into any of the $10,000/month condos – even though that would have been a sight to see! We just put an offer on a place, so keep your fingers crossed we aren’t homeless too much longer.
I am not sure where or what my next job will be, but I promise to keep you posted!

We’re going on day #35 of days at or above 100 degrees here in North Texas, and when it’s this hot and sunny outside you need to adjust your beauty routine. Here are some rules for surviving a Texas Summer:
Rule #1 of living on the surface of the sun is to wear your sunscreen! They say “everything is bigger in Texas,” so you’re going to have to get out of your car and walk in the blazing sun to get into the mall, grocery, etc. My go-to in the morning is Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. It is a moisturizer, sunscreen (SPF 30), and base color in one. I love this stuff because it goes on pretty sheer and gives me a little glow!
Some people think it’s not work appropriate to “show your toes,” BUT I work in radio and get to wear flip flops whenever I want so I have to keep my feet in good condition. Rule #2: Get a pedicure! No one wants to see your yellow toe nails and cracked heel skin. I also recommend re-coating your toes with clear coat nail polish to extend the life of your pedicure. Also, don’t forget to exfoliate your feet in the shower and moisturize when you get out! I LOVE my Mr. Pumice Pumi bar – just a quick scrub in the shower is all you need!
Rule #3: Don’t let your hair get singed in the sun! I look like an idiot when I wear a hat, so when I’m outside my hair is exposed to the sun. To avoid all the moisture being zapped out of my hair (and to protect color-treated hair), I use Color Extend Solar Sunscreen from Redken. This stuff smells great and has SPF 12.
Rule #4: Look cool while protecting your eyes with sunglasses! I remember reading an article that said the sun here in Texas is stronger than other regions (we are exposed to more UV rays), thus making the need for sunglasses even more important. Just about everyone looks cool in the aviator style, and you can never go wrong with a retro oval frame (think Jackie O). If you want to be super trendy, check out these styles from Harper’s Bazaar.
It’s hot and you’re going to get thirsty, and if you don’t drink enough water you’re going to pass out! Rule #5: Always drink water and carry a reusable bottle. That’s why I say one of the hottest accessories this summer is a reusable bottle. Between my boyfriend and I, we have about 10 different kinds of bottles: Nalgene, Camelbak, and my new favorite: Insulated by Polar Bottle! The insulated bottle is by far the best at keeping my water cool and it has a loop on the top, making it easy to carry.
Well, it’s that time of the year for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and also time for the Celebrity Goat Milking Contest! And yes, the term celebrity is used pretty loosely as Justin and I will be competing. Last year we came in somewhere between last and dead last…but this year I am doing my homework. I have been Googling how to milk a goat all morning, and taking suggestions. (Leave your suggestion by commenting below)
You can come out and cheer for me and Justin this Sat. (Jan. 15) at 5:45 in the Cattle Arena. We’ll be competing against Ron & Brian from our sister station 92.1 KTFW, DJ’s from other stations, and local TV personalities. BUT if you can’t make it out, I have asked Dexter to film the whole thing and I will post it here by Monday.
Here are some nice how-to photos from the web LOL!:
Got emailed this great deal: 2 for 1 tickets to see Reckless Kelly at Billy Bob’s on Dec. 17!

Earlier this week there were rumors that Tony Parker filed for divorce from Eva Longoria – false! THEN her reps said they weren’t getting divorced – false!
NOW US Weekly claims Eva Longoria is divorcing Tony Parker because she found “hundreds” of text messages between him and a close mutual friend. A source says, ”Eva is heartbroken by the betrayal. To have it be a friend of the couple’s makes it even worse. She’s inconsolable. Once the trust was lost, the marriage was over.”
Tony and his mistress have been secretly seeing each other for a year. Mario Lopez says the mystery woman is MARRIED to one of Tony’s teammates. Celeb Smack says Brent Barry’s estranged wife, Erin, is Tony’s mistress. (They are all pictured below) E! News that Erin and Tony did not have a physical relationship and the sum of their contact was “just texting.”
Eva says, “It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other’s happiness.”
A friend of Tony’s tells E!, “There was no physical relationship. It was just texting. He knows the texting went too far. He knows the marriage is over. Parker did have an affair in the early days of their marriage, but said there will be no other women coming out of the woodwork. If there are, they are lying. This is not a Tiger Woods situation.”
Brent’s dad, NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry, says, “I feel horrible for my son. I’m in shock. I knew [Erin Barry] was moving out of the house soon and SHE was the one that filed for divorce. This is the straw that broke the camel’s back. Brent is going to be devastated. I can’t even imagine him going through this … the divorce was hard enough news.”
