The morning after a big win for the Packers in Super Bowl XLV, everyone is talking about the big flops: Xtina’s National Anthem flub & The BEP’s lack of talent without auto-tune.
Christina Aguilera is getting a lot of flack for singing the wrong lyrics during the National Anthem, I kinda feel bad for her. Instead of singing “o’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,” she sang, “What so proudly we watched, at the twilight’s last streaming.”
She may have messed up a line, but her shoes were great!
“I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of it’s anthem still came through,” Christina said in a statement to the Associated Press following her performance in Arlington, Texas.
And on to the Black Eyed Peas…where do I begin??? First off, the audio guy really messed it up with not turning the mics up at the right time. But it might have been better if they were never turned on at all. Will.i.am did an okay job of scream/singing/rapping and I think he was auto-tuned, but Fergie sounded off! She was singing in a lower register and off-key for most of the performance – even a duet with Slash couldn’t save her.
The visual part of it, on the other hand, was great! I loved the people dancing around in their glow stick body-suits and the stage that spelled “Love”! And a big thumbs up to Usher for coming out and doing a huge jump over will.i.am into a split!
